Another One Bites The Dust: FMCSA Revokes TMS One, Nationwide Techs, and ONE PLUS ELDs

Another One Bites The Dust: FMCSA Revokes

Three more ELDs this year has been REVOKED by FMCSA.

On January 31 through February 8, 2023, FMCSA removed the following devices from the list of registered ELDs due to the company’s failure to meet the minimum requirements established in 49 CFR part 395, subpart B, appendix A.

Motor carriers and drivers using ‘ELD ONE’ ELDs have 60 days to replace the revoked devices with compliant ELDs compliant ELD(s) from the Registered Devices list before April 10, 2023.

  • ELD Name: ELD ONE
  • REPLACE by: April 1, 2023
  • ELD Model number: OELD01
  • ELD Identifier: OWLA01
  • ELD Provider: TMS ONE

  • ELD Name: Nationwide ELD
  • REPLACE by: April 4, 2023
  • ELD Model number: NWTELDV1.1
  • ELD Identifier: NWT001
  • ELD Provider: Nationwide Technologies Inc

  • ELD Name: ONE PLUS ELD (n/k/a 1 PL Logs)
  • REPLACE by: April 10, 2023
  • ELD Model number: ORS
  • ELD Identifier: ORS160
  • ELD Provider: ONE PLUS ELD (n/k/a 1 PL LOGS)

Also, carriers and drivers must discontinue using the revoked device(s) and revert to paper logs or logging software to record required hours of service data.

If you do not, you will be in violation of 49 CFR 395.8(a)(1)—“No record of duty status” and drivers will be placed out-of-service in accordance with the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) OOS Criteria.

If the ELD provider corrects all identified deficiencies, FMCSA will place the device back on the Registered Devices list and inform the industry and the field. However, FMCSA strongly encourages motor carriers to take the actions listed above now to avoid compliance issues if these deficiencies are not addressed in time.

TMS One’s ‘ELD ONE’ is the third ELD removed by FMCSA  in the last 12 months.

The two other ELDs are:

  • ELDorado ELD ERS model: can’t be used after Nov. 7, 2022
  • ArionT ELD: can’t be used after Aug. 24, 2022

What is the best ELD?

Compliance Navigation Specialists searched high and low for a partner in the telematics or electronic logging device (ELD) industry, testing over 20 ELD systems before partnering with Pedigree Technologies.

We found that Pedigree’s “OneView” platform offered a great product and even better technical support to improve efficiency and streamline your operation.

As a certified reseller, CNS offers great customer support and a partner who knows the DOT rules and regulations.

Not the right fit, we can recommend another ELD, just let us know.
